    Hi,

I have followed the Ubuntu 9.04 Samba Server Integrated With Active Directory published by sohel successfully, despite running the latest version of Ubuntu rather than 9.04.

My problem is I don't seem to be able to login to the machine on a domain account. The wbinfo -t/-u/-g commands work fine and the machine has appeared in AD correctly.

I have joined Ubuntu machines to a windows domain with likewise in the past and having done so I have been able to log in with a DOMAIN\Username account from AD. Is this not the case with samba/winbind, or have I done something wrong?!

    Many thanks

Set samba to very verbose logging then do a 'tail -f' on say /var/log/syslog
/var/log/auth /var/log/samba/nmbd and /var/log/samba/smbd in multiple terminals (assuming your at a gui or from a remote terminal).
Then 'su DOMAIN\username' and see if you can authenticate. Watch the the 'tail -f' terminals. You should be able to find some hints.

    Good luck.
