    If you get an error, look at the error log of the site to find the reason.

    Try this in the Apache Directives field of that web site in ISPConfig:

    Code:
    <Directory srv/www/uwasnet.org/web>
            Options All
            AllowOverride All
            Order allow,deny
            Allow from all
    </Directory>

    which file?

    Which file do i add the directive

    till Super Moderator Staff Member ISPConfig Developer

    As Falko mentioned above, this has to be added to the apache directives field in ispconfig and not in a file.

    Looks as if you changed the suphp.conf file manually or upgraded suphp which removed some nescessary lines. To reconfigure your system, download ispcongig and run the update.php script.

    worked but with new issues

    For the above problem i decided to use mod_php instead of suphp and the site is working properly. Thanks to God and the community for all the help. Now i have some small additional issues that i need to take care off.

    How can i configure the server such that it stores mail. Want the mail to be accessible by both webmail (squirrelmail) and outlook. Secondly when i am doing the subdomain for example webmail.uwasnet.org i dont understand what the redirect path means or how to go about the entire issue of subdomains?

    The server is doing that automatically, just configure outlook to use imap instead of pop3.

    See apache documantation on how mod_rewrite works:

    http://httpd.apache.org/docs/2.0/rewrite/

    Sub domains

    So how do i go about adding the sub domains?

  15. till

    till Super Moderator Staff Member ISPConfig Developer

    Click on add new subdomain, enter the subdomain and click on save... Please look at the controlpanel first before asking, it is really self explaining.

    Yes

    Till it is self explaning....i have actually tried doing that. The problem is when i save the sub domain the main site changes from what it was. When i enter resource.uwasnet.org the main site www.uwasnet.org either doesnt work or it gives me the default webpage (index.html) yet joomla is already installed and running.

    So i asked to get the right procedure minus stating the problem. please forgive me.

    Remove the index.html file.

    I have done that

    Till i want the subdomains to have there own folders separate from the main site, coz they have there own joomla installations and i dont want to create the subfolders for the domain in the main folder is why i was asking about using redirect or i just create the sub domains as websites of there own? Secondly i have to prevent resource.uwasnet.org from looping back on www.uwasnet.org. My problem is having the different sub domains work so i am wondering if i can configure them as website of there own with there on user (ftp, database and shell) to login in instead of login into www.uwasnet.org.

    Tx

    Then simply click on new website, enter the name of the subdomain and click on save!

    vhosts.conf

    Do i have to edit the vhosts.conf file to add the directives for every site i come up with?

    # this version of vhost.conf defines two domains with different webspaces on the server

    <VirtualHost 192.168.10.44>
    DocumentRoot /srv/www/htdocs/swerdna.org
    servername www.swerdna.org
    # additional directives for www.swerdna.org here
    </VirtualHost>

    <VirtualHost 192.168.10.44>
    DocumentRoot /srv/www/htdocs/computerhelp.com
    servername www.computerhelp.com
    # additional directives for www.computerhelp.com here
    </VirtualHost>

    # the second website has its docs in directory /srv/www/htdocs/computerhelp.com
