Keeping mail on server with mail clients

Hi everybody,

I have a question (It's more about outlook then ISPConfig). But whenever I set up a new IMAP connection in outlook it transfers all sent mail to the local machine not the server therefor none of the messages stay on the server for webmail. Does anyone know how to fix this?

But I can't expect my users to have to do that when configuring outlook. Isn't there an easier way?

 

Never had that problem. Are you sure you used IMAP, not POP3?

 

Yeah. I was able to fix it with that article above, but what it does is it will save all sent mail (and sent mail only) to the local sent mail, not the folder on the server. So i had to make a rule saying always move it to the server after sending.

I suppose I can live with making rules. Or just using thunderbird =)
