I've got a question. I'm running Etch with kernel 2.6.18-4-486 Twice in the last week, while running an apt-get upgrade, I've been prompted that there's a new kernel available. The problem is, upon installing the new kernel, I get a prompt that the kernel I'm installing is the same as the kernel that's installed. Any ideas what the reason is that it's doing this?
I don't know why this happens (I assume it's a patched kernel with the same versoin string), but I've done that upgrade twice in the last days without problems. But you must reboot the system after the upgrade.
Thanks, Falko. I've done the upgrade twice as well...without problems...was just wondering if I had a kernel issue of some sort...or if others were seeing the same thing happen. Thanks again!
