Hello, I am using CentOS 7. I am cannot get Let's Encrypt to work on subdomains. I have my server set up with my primary domain. ns1.example.com. I then set up a website, 1.example.com on the server. I check the option to create a Let's Encrypt certificate. The DNS record is hosted on a different server. I don't know if this will make a difference.
To narrow down what the error is, please go through the Let's encrypt FAQ to check the setup: https://www.howtoforge.com/community/threads/lets-encrypt-error-faq.74179/ Also, the following details will be helpful: 1) Is the server behind a NAT router? 2) Is the subdomain that you want to create the letsencrypt SSL cert for already pointing to the server?
I was able to get it working. It seems like ISPConfig takes a while to create the certificate. There is no indicator that the certificate is being created.
It takes max. 1 - 2 minutes and there is an indicator that shows you when the process is finished at the top of the ISPConfig page.
Thank you for this information. I did not notice the indicator. One quick question, how do I reset the Let's Encrypt certificate? For example, if I change the domain name of a website. Thank you.
