    Sorry for lamer question:
I have installed letsencrypt on debian jessie+apache with this guide and it works quite fine:
    https://www.howtoforge.com/tutorial...ovecot-ispconfig-3-1/2/#-install-lets-encrypt
    it does not use backports

now, I am installing with nginx
    https://www.howtoforge.com/tutorial/perfect-server-debian-jessie-nginx-bind-dovecot-ispconfig-3.1/2/
    and it does use backports

Should I use backports or one was superseded by the other?
And why does it use backports and the other one doesn't? b/c this is nginx?

    many thnx

    This does not matter.

Different tutorials might use different ways to achieve the same goal.
