Hi there, I am kind of new to Linux, so I am wondering since Linux is utilized for so many security-related IT functions, what is the recommended security configuration when you are speaking on the subject of "Hardening" your Linux environment?
This question is too broad and general especially when linux could be used for desktop or server; and server operations could vary further from web, database, mail, ssh / ftp, dns etc. I believe in here you should be able to find various tutorials and discussions for perfect desktop or server and how to secure them.
If there would be 'one' recommended configuration, this would be the default on all systems. It depends on your goal and the software you want to use. The most secure is to deactivate the network card. But that might not be compatible with your requirements ;-) As a starting point: https://infosec-handbook.eu/as-wss/
