    Hey guys

I was wondering if you could give me some help

basically, im a bit of a linux n00b

i currently have my website running on a fedora core 4 server, and am not installing fedora core 5

But 1 thing i havent liked with my current solution, is the GUI stuff and all that

Which use alot of resorces, and generally i dont need

I was wondering if you know of some good guides on how to use the console and such

i can use Putty, and know very basic stuff, like Vim (thanks to a friend)

any guides on how to do things with the terminal would be good

Also if there is a way i could still have a file browser type thing (so i dont have to type in like \root\file to get one, but have a window with icons

Thanks for any help on this

    Have a look here: http://linuxcommand.org/learning_the_shell.php
And of course also at the HowtoForge tutorials... :)

You can install WinSCP on your Windows desktop.
