Almost for about two weeks, I got stuck in this situation and need urgent help. Please let me know if anyone experienced this situation.
Looks like name resolution is not working. Is this same error been going on for two weeks? I do not understand what the above means. What did you actually do? What show commands Code: host security.debian.org host www.google.com ping -c 3 8.8.8.8 My signature has link to DNS tutorial, it has info on troubleshooting name service. If still problems, what show Code: cat /etc/resolv.conf cat /etc/nsswitch.conf
Hi Taleman Thanks for your help here is the result of requested commands: Code: root@ns1:~# host www.google.com ;; connection timed out; no servers could be reached Code: root@ns1:~# ping -c 3 8.8.8.8 PING 8.8.8.8 (8.8.8.8) 56(84) bytes of data. Ping command shows that host can not reach the Internet. Examine why this is the case, fixing the connection should resolve your problems. Name service can not work if the host can not access Internet to send the name service queries. Commands to examine the situation: Code: cat /etc/debian_version ip a ip r In the ip r output, take the default via <ip-number> and ping that number to see if host can reach default router. If the ip a and ip r do not show usefull output, maybe the host has lost it's network configuration? Or the cable is unplugged?
I had a problem with my DNS and static IP and I resolved recently. But got new error and post as a new threat in ISPConfig forum.
