    I'm new to Linux and have encountered a problem while trying to install the Medibuntu library. Both Add/Remove and Synaptic Package Manager are giving me the following error message:

    E: Type 'sudo' is not known on line 58 in source list /etc/apt/sources.list
    E: The list of sources could not be read.
    Go to the repository dialog to correct the problem.
    E: _cache->open() failed, please report.

    Does anyone know how to fix this? How do I edit the sources list? Any help will be appreciated.

    Nyco.

    Solved!

    I found the "How to Configure Apt Source List" section here and fixed the problem. Sorry, newbie panic.
