I recently bought a VPS with the following specs Code: Operating system: CentOS Linux 5.5 Kernel and CPU: Linux 2.6.18-028stab070.4 on x86_64 Processor information: Intel(R) Xeon(R) CPU E5630 @ 2.53GHz, 16 cores Real memory: 2 GB total, 361.74 MB used Local disk space: 30 GB total, 3.62 GB used. I am having an issue where at random times it takes 1-2 minutes to load a web page on my web server. When this happens both the RAM and CPU usage are low and haven't increased in usage. This is my first time using a VPS and I am sure it is something I have done wrong but unfortunately I am unable to work out what that is so any assistance in fixing this issue is much appreciated. If anyone is curious the link to the website is www.trident-gaming.net and the web server is Apache.
If you have a VPS then there are several virtual servers one one physical server. You can see only the load on your local VM but not the overall load of the server. So the slow loading times can be related to high traffic on any of the other virtual machines or that one of the other VM's use too much disk bandwidth. Only the provider where you rented the vps can tell you more about the overall system load at that times. Another possibility is that your website includes any javascript or css files or banners from external services. If the response time of one of these services is slow, then your page will load slow too as the browser waits until these external assets are loaded until it displays your page.
I asked to be moved to another node but now the company is blaming my website for the issue even tho it worked fine on the last VPS I had it on >.> God I hate renting stuff, I always have so many issues with the company providing the service lol.
