I installed Ubuntu 11 Server following the instructions for Perfect Server.

But when I get to the terminal certain keys don't work. or example the > shows up as : and the < shows up as ; There are many other keys that show up as block characters

My setup is Mac OS X Server 10.6 running VirtualBox. On this I have installed Ubuntu. The keyboard is a USB device. I have successfully installed debian and centos following the Perfect Server instructions and the keyboard works properly in terminal.

    Any ideas?

I suggest you use an SSH client to connect to the virtual machines. The SSH client uses the clientPC's keyboard map.

That's what I ended up doing. Still I don' t have confidence with Ubuntu since they must be doing something different from Debian and CentOS. I think for now I will stick with CentOS.

    Thanks
