Good morning, I've installed maia mailguard on ubuntu 10.04, the configtest says everything's fine (except gd library which is being a pig to install)

but when I go to the login page, straight away I get this error

Error with themes: theme not found or permissions problem.

    I don't even get a login prompt

the permissions of /var/www/maia/themes are currently set to

    drwxrwsrwx 6 www-data amavis 4.0K 2010-12-23 16:59 themes

but I've tried lots of other combinations as well

I've got these in the themes directory

    desert_sand dgm ocean_surf

    any suggestions?

Are there any errors in Apache's error log?

    not a sausage :/

In the general apache error log, I get this when I reboot apache but I'm fairly sure that's irrelevant

PHP Warning: PHP Startup: Unable to load dynamic library '/usr/lib/php5/20090626/gd.so' - /usr/lib/php5/20090626/gd.so: undefined symbol: gdImageCreateFromJpeg in Unknown on line 0
PHP Warning: PHP Startup: apc.shm_segments setting ignored in MMAP mode in Unknown on line 0

and the site-specific error log is empty

Did you install the php5-gd package...
    Code:
    sudo apt-get install php5-gd
    ... and restart Apache afterwards?

I did and it didn't make any difference. I threw the head in, flattened it and re-did the installation using the howtoforge guides.

Not sure what I did different but everything seems hunky dory now.

    Thanks for your time
