    Hello,
    today I start using ISPConfig on my VPS, I setup sites ftp etc. with no problem.

    But when I tried to send, o receive email it wont works... I try to recreate mailboxes, turn on and turn off DKIM and also restart server few times....

    I use Debian 9, when I try to check services, it looks like amavis is turned off.
    Code:
     [ - ]  amavis
    [ - ]  amavis-mc
    [ - ]  amavisd-snmp-subagent
    [ + ]  apache-htcacheclean
    [ + ]  apache2
    [ + ]  bind9
    [ + ]  clamav-daemon
    [ + ]  clamav-freshclam
    [ + ]  cron
    [ + ]  dbus
    [ + ]  dovecot
    [ - ]  fail2ban
    [ + ]  gdomap
    [ - ]  haveged
    [ - ]  hwclock.sh
    [ ? ]  jailkit
    [ - ]  kmod
    [ + ]  memcached
    [ + ]  mysql
    [ + ]  networking
    [ + ]  ntp
    [ + ]  openbsd-inetd
    [ + ]  opendkim
    [ + ]  php7.0-fpm
    [ + ]  postfix
    [ + ]  postgrey
    [ + ]  procps
    [ + ]  pure-ftpd-mysql
    [ + ]  quota
    [ - ]  quotarpc
    [ - ]  rsync
    [ + ]  rsyslog
    [ - ]  spamassassin
    [ + ]  ssh
    [ - ]  sudo
    [ + ]  udev
    [ + ]  ufw

    I tried to start it, but it FAILED with this message:
    In many logs I still see this:
    I really do not know, where is the problem, if is some misconfiguration with DNS, or email, or anything else.

    Hope you will help me :)

    Thank you very much for any idea or help.

    Have a nice day!

    Restart amavis and thetake a look into /var/log/mail.log to find out why it fails to start.

    How did you restart it? The command on Debian 9 is:

    systemctl restart amavis

    and you should see new messages then in /var/log/mail.log e.g. with:

    tail -n 100 /var/log/mail.log

    It shows me now this:

    Code:

    Strange, either the amavis setup is completely broken or it is not fully installed or parts have been deleted. Which tutorial did you use to prepare your server for the iSPConfig installation?

    That's not a solution for the amavis problem, it simply partially removes amavis from the config. you should undo the steps that you found for plesk.

    The official installation guide is this:

    https://www.howtoforge.com/tutorial...-9-stretch-apache-bind-dovecot-ispconfig-3-1/

    redo chapters 4 to 9. Then download ispconfig again, unpack it, run the update.php script in the install folder and choose to reconfigure services during update.

    It is so strange, when I run upgrade, it block me anyway....

    Code:

    You have set a wrong server hostname. Compare your setup with the tutorial, chapter 4.

    I have set it up I thing good:
    Code:
    ff02::1         ip6-allnodes
    ff02::2         ip6-allrouters

    127.0.0.1 localhost.localdomain localhost
    37.205.11.25 server1.eilat.sk
    # Auto-generated hostname. Please do not remove this comment.
    ::1             localhost ip6-localhost ip6-loopback

    And hostname have server1

    When you compare this with the tutorial, then you see that the line:
    37.205.11.25 server1.eilat.sk
    has to be:
    37.205.11.25 server1.eilat.sk server1

    Now it looks like:
    Code:
    ff02::1         ip6-allnodes
    ff02::2         ip6-allrouters

    127.0.0.1 localhost.localdomain localhost
    37.205.11.25 server1.eilat.sk server1
    # Auto-generated hostname. Please do not remove this comment.
    ::1             localhost ip6-localhost ip6-loopback

    hostname have this server1

    rebooted

    apt-get update- Works!

    apt-get upgrade - not working:
    Code:
    Jan 26 15:37:20 server1 amavis[1744]: Starting amavisd:   The value of vari…been
    Jan 26 15:37:20 server1 amavis[1744]:   a fully qualified domain name; perh…uch.

    what's in the file /etc/hostname and what is the output of the commands:

    hostname

    and

    hostname -f

    and check the /etc/hosts file, does it still contain the exact line:

    37.205.11.25 server1.eilat.sk server1

    It contains:

    And after commands you mentioned:

    Try to put the full hostname server1.eilat.sk in /etc/hostname file and reboot the server.
