After updating my ISPConfig from the previous version of 3 to the latest dovecot failed to start at the end of the upgrade script. The first error I received was an error in the /etc/dovecot.conf file. I had backed up the /etc director as advised before upgrading so I replaced the conf file with my old one. Now I am getting a failure trying to start it due to the following message: Starting Dovecot Imap: Fatal: listen(143) failed: Address already in use Any suggestions which file(s) to replace or what to do? As of now my mail services are offline until I can get this sorted out. I followed the CentOS 5.4 'Perfect Server' guide when I built this server. Thanks in advance, Brian
If you followed the guide, then you use courier and not dovecot. So its ok that it does not start. Please see here for the solution: http://www.howtoforge.com/forums/showthread.php?t=44042
Issue resolved... Thanks Till. I guess I must not have used the right search terms when searching past posts I was able to correct the issue using that thread, thank you. One thing to note is that you still have to manually remove the three dovecot entries from the postfix main.cf file; the manual upgrade script did not fix it. I manually removed the entries and re-ran the upgrade and everything seems good. Thank you again for the fast response and the great software! Brian
