I have setup with the guide for debian lenny. Everything is working fine accept for my mail is going to spam for yahoo and hotmail. I have barely used this domain with no users on my site yet, just testing. I have sent 2 emails one to yahoo and one to hotmail and I include the headers below. So if you are able to have a quick look to see if I can do a better setup somewhere. Thanks in advance. Setup a PTR record and SPF record. This would probably fix the SPAM issue, use MX record all the way as hostname and MX record.
pointer record looks like this 192-196-1-1.mydomain.com [192-196-1-1] - is this correct? I got this info from doing ping -a ipaddress from windows cmd line. spf record is working now, it was missing the . in the dns config. If I do a dig for the txt records I do see the spf record but not the domainkey record. Am I supose to see the txt record for the domainkey as well? I also added a . at the end of the domainkey record. TXT mail._domainkey.mydomain.com k=rsa; t=y; p=MIGfM(shortened)DAQAB If I change the dns to TXT mydomain.com. k=rsa; t=y; p=MIGfM(shortened)DAQAB then I can dig the txt record, but this seems incorrect and if I test with the tool it syas no _domainkey found for my domain I still have problems when starting dkim-filter. Is this due to dns issue? Please ignore - (I have added spf record in dns. I waited 24 hours for dns. I use the test tool to check for spf but it says none for the domain. See here for instructions to enable dkim in a ispconfig setup: http://www.faqforge.com/linux/how-to-enable-dkim-email-signatures-in-amavisd-new-and-ispconfig-3/ dkimfilter is not needed as ispconfig uses amavisd-new which supports already dkim.
Thanks Till but i think you realise that ive tryied all the resources on the net the result of that howto is exactly my other post regarding TXT records everything works fine until key testing
Then do not post to different threads at a time which are abozt completely different configurations. The faqforge article is fine, our problem is the dns server and not the dkim setup.
