    Sorry to ask this question but none of the topics i read exactly answered my question. Now please if someone can give me an answer do not assume that if you tell me to look at a log or something and that i will understand where to go. i am new to linux/server.

    I setup CENTOS5.2 with ISPConfig. I installed SMF which is a free forum written in PHP as one of my first sites as a client and i noticed that if set the forum to require me the admin to approve the users access to the forum that those emails never come. Also i tested the lost password feature and again, no email every shows up to the end users email addess such as hotmail, yahoo or the like. Now, for account emails such as resellers/client within ispconfig that does work i.e. i log into roundcube and emails are there.

    thanks in advance for responses.

    Have a look in the mail log, if I remember correctly the exact name is /ver/log/maillog under centos with the command:

    tail -f /ver/log/maillog

    Then register at your forum and check if any new messages or errors apper in the mail.log.

    You can quit the tail command by pressing [ctrl] + [c]

    i have many mail logs but here is one from the 16th

    I have changed some of the names i.e. (mydomain) from my real domain name but here is a log. I will look at one more recent but let me know if you see something wrong here;

    Is your server in a datacenter or do you host it on a dsl line?

    One other update on this..

    I did make changes on the domain name within godaddy's user section. I made changes to IP's and Mail...and pretty much hit and miss setting since i am not really sure what or how to set the IP on their side. I have full DNS control on the domain in question therefore i can point it all to my public ip and so forth. Anyway, i made a change (not sure which caused this) and now i can at least send emails from any email host i.e. msn, yahoo, gmail... and they are showing up in my email accounts on server via roundcubemail. But when i reply back...no go. in short, send=no received=yes.

    Of course I still have not fixed issues where emails from forum sign up go but if i can at least send/receive it would be a star.

    See my previous post. You should then be able to send mails as well.
