    Hi,

I've installed a ubuntu server with ispconfig (very useful software) and I'm amazed seeing some mails dissapear.

    This is the log:

    ----mail.log ----

    Nov 20 23:58:45 correos postfix/pickup[11159]: 7832C6ED05A: uid=10027 from=<stig>
    Nov 20 23:58:45 correos postfix/cleanup[11181]: 7832C6ED05A: message-id=<[email protected]>
    Nov 20 23:58:45 correos postfix/qmgr[5810]: 7832C6ED05A: from=<[email protected]>, size=366, nrcpt=1 (queue active)
    Nov 20 23:58:45 correos postfix/smtpd[11170]: disconnect from unknown[200.105.159.78]
    Nov 20 23:58:46 correos postfix/local[11299]: 7832C6ED05A: to=<[email protected]>, relay=local, delay=1.2, delays=0.65/0/0/0.57, dsn=2.0.0, status=sent (delivered to command: /usr/bin/procmail -f-)
    Nov 20 23:58:46 correos postfix/qmgr[5810]: 7832C6ED05A: removed

    ----mail.log ----

Basically some mails aren't sent neither are returned to the sender. I've saw this in situations where the mail is rejected by the other smtp too.

    The questions are:

How can I assure the delivery of the mail to dest or to sender?
How can I capture the this mails to be saved some place to later review?

    Thanks!

Please make sure that you enabled the maildir checkbox in ISPConfig under management > server > settings.

The above log part looks fine and shows a statistics mail which is sent to the admispconfig script on your server to create the mail statistics.

To look at the postfix mail queue, use the command:

    postqueue -p

    Nov 21 07:14:49 correos postfix/cleanup[22274]: 19F616ED05F: message-id=<f06e572932a866e792295e6b5baf6fe9@localhost>
    Nov 21 07:14:49 correos postfix/qmgr[11719]: 19F616ED05F: from=<[email protected]>, size=464, nrcpt=1 (queue active)
    Nov 21 07:14:49 correos postfix/smtp[22282]: 19F616ED05F: to=<[email protected]>, relay=mail.YYY.com[200.87.124.174]:25, delay=0.8, delays=0.06/0.02/0.33/0.39, dsn=2.0.0, status=sent (250 Ok: queued as 9BEF2E166)
    Nov 21 07:14:49 correos postfix/qmgr[11719]: 19F616ED05F: removed

look the line with the sent status.

why the previous hasn't have this line. To me it went nowhere. I've also make a test from one of the machine with this problem sometimes it sent, other it didn't.

    Mail doesn't get relayed

Well, the problem is the mail is not relayed anywhere. Just the procmail is called (for the ispconfig statistic) but not try to relay either to other server or as a replay to the sender with the communication of the problem.

    Regards
