    As you can see after following the tutorial, I cannot create a mailing list via the web interface. I can create using the command line but still get the server1. prefix at the bottom of the mailing list and on the create list page.
    list message footer:-

    To get a list created and working I had to change the mmconfig DEFAULT_EMAIL_HOST by removing the server1. prefix

    Code:
    #-------------------------------------------------------------
    # Default domain for email addresses of newly created MLs
    DEFAULT_EMAIL_HOST = 'xxxxxx.net.au'
    #-------------------------------------------------------------
    # Default host for web interface of newly created MLs
    DEFAULT_URL_HOST   = 'xxxxxx.net.au'
    #-------------------------------------------------------------
    What I need to know is where is it pulling the server1. (server name) from to append it to the domain? - as I believe this may be my issue about being unable to create lists.
    As I have previously said several times now I have installed servers using the great tutorials on here, but Mailman never seems to work properly straight out of the box, so to speak and always fights me to get it working.

    I gave up on Mailman. I am waiting for ISPConfig to support some other mailing list software that could be used with virtual users, like Sympa. There is a feature request in the tracker about Sympa.

    Glad to see I am not alone in my frustration.
    I tend to agree with you, it has caused me several hours of angst over the years; when it is working, it's great but a real shame it's so damn difficult to setup
    A couple of times I have installed Sympa, in the past but where do you find the documentation? To me it seems really cluttered and not very user friendly so I gave up on it.
    At least I do have mailman working, even if it is not how I would exactly like it.

    Mailman works, but using Mailman with ISPConfig is frustrating. @till explained it is because Mailman is oldish and for example does not support virtual users. I have used mailman directly, that works. But offering mailing lists for users is currently not doable in my opinion, because I could not get ISPConfig mailing list stuff to work with Mailman.

    Agreed, in this case though I would be happy with it working on just one domain, all I want is to find where it is pulling the server1. prefix from to add to the link in the footer of the messages sent.........

    I gave up on Mailman as well. For anyone that is interested I created some documentation on how to install Sympa on Ubuntu 18.04. It is available at: drive.google.com/open?id=1Wo9Z4f56z_g8In1vQ3nj0CYCLwRqY4Uf1YAa6YsNgRo
