I don't understand this option in the user & mail advanced settings, the description says:

Enables the virus scanner for this mailbox. Extensions of suspicious attachments (e.g. .exe-files) will be renamed so that they cannot be opened by double-click.

but then if i want to enable antivirus support for one of my email accounts i have to check...

in Spamfilter & Antivirus -> Antivirus & Spam and then in advanced settings MailScan?

so what is the different between MailScan checkbox & Antivirus Checkbox?

    thks in advanced

The mail scanner scans emails for malicious javascript code and stuff like that, it also renames potentially dangerous attachments like .exe and .doc so that they cannot be opened simply with a double-click anymore. It is something like a content scanner.
And Antivirus is a real virus scanner, it uses ClamAV.
