    Friends:
I am already using Mandriva 2007, which I find very handy and easy to install and maintain, specially for me a newby in Linux World; however, one of the flaws I have found on it is that it has no support for NTFS partitions. I know that I can get over this problem installing ntfs-3g but not having access to Internet I can't download the program.
A friend of mine downloaded ntfs-3g-1.5012.tgz from its official download web site but I don't know how to install it. Can you explain me, please?
    Your friend,

Aren't there any installation instructions in the archive?

Have you considered upgrading to Mandriva 2009?

    My friend:
I have considered upgrading to Mandriva 2008, because my Computer is rather old and I am afrain that it doesn't meet the requirements that Mandriva 2009 needs. However, a friend of mine who lives in Sweden tried to download the Mandriva 2008 DVD for me, and he answered me that he couldn't do it since it requires BitTorrent which is forbidden in Sweden. Is that true? and Why?
