I use bind9 for long long time, and there's 1 master and 4 slave dns servers. And now what I want is change from bind9 to mydns. Is it possible to change the master one very firstly? If so, can the slave servers replicate the data from master mydns as we as master bind9? I need to make sure every thing is work before change. Thanks.

    Hi,

yes, mydns supports zone transfers with axfr to bind servers. Make sure that you install the latest mydns-ng versions as older versions had some bugs related to zone transfers.

You can test zone transfers also with the dig command.

what's the mydns-ng for? sorry that I can't found any rpm package named "mydns-ng". Do I need to install it manually?

mydns-ng is the DNS server, its the sucessor of the mydns dns server. If there is no package for it, you will have to compile it manually. You will find instructions for that in the perfect setup guides for ispconfig 3.
