I'm working for an ISP that has an existing setup on bluequartz, servers running in CentOS 4.6. We are trying to get them onto ispconfig. unfotunately, it keeps coming up with the error that there is already a domain or server using that address. There probably is a really easy workaround that I don't know but if someone could enlighten me that'd be great.
If you deleted a domain, you will have to empty the recycle bin before you can craete this domain again.
I'm migrating from bluequartz to ispconfig, so the dns recognizes that it's already there, and wont allow me to create a webspace for it. As in the sites are already listed globally in dns servers.
ISPConfig is not recognizing existing DNS Servers, so this can not cause your problem. This error message can be caused by 2 situations: 1) You created a website or co-domain with this domain name in ISPConfig, deleted it and forgot to empty the recycle bin afterwards. 2) You are trying to create subdomains of a domain that is assigned already to another client.
if I had existing dns servers and pointed my installation there while I was installing fedora would it recognize them then? because it's not allowing me to create the same websites as are on my bluequartz server.
I haven't created any sites on the ISPConfig and it's still giving me that error message, any other suggestions about getting around it? this is a completely fresh load of linux, I just finished loading ispconfig, and this is the first time I'mtrying to put sites on.
Please have a look in the ispconfig mysql database (e.g. with phpmyadmin) and there in the table isp_isp_web and isp_isp_domain, do you find a record for galaxymc.com there?
What solved it? I hope that you did not delete in the database them as this would have messed up the database structure in the depending tables. You should just check if they were there.
