hi, i wanna now the minimal install for a DNS server. I will do this config: Server 1 - ISPconfig Master (Mysql, Apache, mail, ftp) Server 2 - DNS primary Server 3 - DNS secundary For the DNS servers to work with ISPconfig i only need Mysql and ISPconfig? If this setup works ISPconfig will reload bind in the DNS servers? The DNS server 1 and 2 will be used for ISPconfig hosting and for my old hosting (with my personal control panel). Can I setup other Master ISPconfig 3 server and use the same DNS servers? In other words, can I have one DNS server to multiple Master servers? thanks!! Any help would be great!!
yes. Plus mydns or bind of course. ISPConfig does the complete dns management. It reloads bind of course on configuration changes. No. As every DNS record has a unique ID in the master server, so if the server would have more then one master, the ID's will collide and the server will stop working.
