    Hi,
i asked a part of this in a wrong subforum. So here again in the right forum:

we need to increment the space for our mailboxes and the webspaces because the internal hard disk is filling up. So we want to move the /var/vmail and /var/www/ directories to an external hard disk like /mnt/harddisk/var/vmail and /mnt/harddisk/var/www.

what is the best solution to do this flawlessly with postfix/dovecot/apache and ispconfig 3.1?

    Best regards
    chico

    Thx Till,
good explanation. One question: Must i prepare the new harddisk to use quota for mail and www?

Mail does not use Linux quota. For www, the partition should have quota support.
