i like to move my SuSE servers to debian. First I want to move the the ISPConfig server doing nothing other. As I learnt by reading here and elsewhere it should bei working by moving just the database. So I think the following step should be done.
    1. Install a basic debian server
    2. Backup the ISPConfig MySQL DB (ispconfigdb) and the /etc/hosts having all the IP addresses
    3. shutdown the actual server
    4. give the new server the IP address of the downed server
    5. install ISPconfig
    6. restore the ispconfigdb and /etc/hosts

Question, what about the mysql db where the access rights are. Should I back it up at step 2? can I restore it the same way as the ispconfigdb in step 6.

    thanks for help

Yes, thats possible. If you use a Debian or Ubuntu server, then ensure that you migrate also the file /etc/mysql/debian.cnf file.

And what about the apache conf files. And I see an other problem, SuSE has apache docs under /srv/www/... debian under /var/www/... So I think I have modify conf files too.
Maybe there are more things I have to consider? Or what else is the recommended way moving ISPConfig servers from a different platform?
