Hello all ive read a few posts on moving ispconfig to a new server but im getting a little confused with it all as everyone has different configs.

My current situation is that i have 3 servers. the first is a 3Gb Ram OpenVZ machine used to run ISPConfig, DataBase, Mail, Websites and first nameserver (basically was the first machine i had setup using the perfect server tuts debian, apache, dovecot).

The next is just a small OpenVZ machine (128mb Ram) just used as a nameserver for ispconfig.

Finally the third is a 512 KVM machine used as a replicator ie i have the ispconfig databases synced and copying all websites and mail from the first machine every hour.

What im wanting to do is move the main ispconfig from a openvz to KVM machine and then use the old openvz machine to ofload some services. i want to do it this way as my host cannot provide usage limits for clients on the Openvz machines but can on KVM

once thats done id like to add a failover system so that if the main goes down its hosted from the backup till the other is fixed

So im wondering what would be the safest way of doin this? please let me know if you need more info

ad a massive thank you to all that can help!
