Hi, I have a 2 server setup. Mainserver has everything enabled besides mail (control panale, web, db, dns, ...) Slaveserver has only mail and dns enabled I recognised, that zones are not synced from master to slave. Do I have to set slaveserver as mirrow of mainserver? Will this result in any problems regarding the service only installed ones (shared between the 2 servers)??? Thanx for your help!
Yes, if dns shall be mirrored. Yes, as the mirror will mirror all services, not just DNS. The only other option is that you leave it unmirrored and create dns slave record for ech zone on the second srver with ispconfig in the dns module.
Hi Till, if I use the option with creating slave records for each zone - do I need to install the ISPconfig GUI also on the slave DNS? If not - how to exactly create a slave record on the master DNS (which hosts ISPconfig)? I tried to create one on the "Secondary DNS-Zones" tab within ISPconfig (on the main server). But the zone files are not written to the SLAVE server.
I thought there was an RFE to be able to mirror individual services, which is exactly what's needed here, but I can't find it offhand. Might have to file that (again?).
