Hi everyone, I just installed ISPconfig and I have to say I really like it, but this is about a problem I am having with it. My end users can't get their mail through a mail client and they can't log on to their management page. They can log on with SquirrelMail so it must be something simple. Any help would be appreciated. Randy
If they can login to squirrelmail, the server is setup correctly. Just use the username (and not email address!) in the external email progrem to login. Users can never login to the management page, use the client or reseller login details instead.
I have tried it with and without the domain attached. I'm at my wit's end. I don't want to have to do something crazy like eat a bowl of ice cream. Please save me!!! Randy
The username has no domain attached. So just use the username, it looks like web[ID]_user If this does not work, then you mots likely have a firewall installed that blocks the access or you did not forward the pop3 and smtp ports correctly if you use a router.
OK, I hate it when this happens. The problem wasn't with the computer, it was between my ears. I was putting the wrong number after web. I really feel stupid Thanks everyone till you are a superhero Randy
Well that solved the problem with logging in to get email but my users still can't access the control panel to manage their email account. I created a test user with the username of 'test' and the password 'test'. I have tried to log in using 'web2_test' and the password 'test' which failed with a 101 error "Wrong username or password". I got the same error when I tried to log in with the username 'test' and the password 'test'. It looks like I still have problems. The email works great though. Randy
Users can only login to the mailuser login and not the the ispconfig control panel login. Please read the manual for details.
