    Hello,

I'm trying to create PTR records for my IP range.
I need to host my own reverse records, my ISP has given me delegation for my A class subnet.

So, i create a "23/0.82.0.10.in-addr.arpa." zone in mydnsconfig. I have a /23 subnet and 10.0.82.0-10.0.83.255 is my address range (IP addresses changed).

The zone gets created and I try to add a PTR record to that zone.
The Name field is 82.2 and the Canonical Hostname is www.example.com

But the PTR record doesn't show when i dig the nameserver.

What am I doing wrong ?

    Thanks,
    Catalin

This is from the ISPConfig 3 Manual:

"Now let's assume you're the administrator of the IP subnet 1.2.3/255.255.255.0 and want to create a PTR record for the IP address 1.2.3.4 that should point to www.example.com. First you create the DNS zone 3.2.1.in-addr.arpa (3.2.1 is our 1.2.3 subnet in reverse order) in ISPConfig and in this DNS zone you create a PTR record for the Name 4 (which is our IP address 1.2.3.4) which points to www.example.com. "
