I recently installed LAMP on my desktop running ubuntu 11.10, everything was working fine - I managed to install a site locally and mysql was working. I could also log in to the phpmyadmin page. However when I rebooted the desktop mysql stopped working and now I can't get into phpmyadmin as I receive this error: "#2002 Cannot log in to the MySQL server" and "Connection for controluser as defined in your configuration failed." I have tried restarting mysql and editing the /etc/init/mysql.conf file but no luck. Can anyone help me? **EDIT - resolution found - I managed to fix the problem by restarting mysql**
