mysql headers installed but ISPConfig still aborts

Hi Guys,
I have done several installations with ISPConfig without a problem but now I have one. The build process stops after a short while with the folowing error:

the package libmysqlclient15-dev with the mysql headers is already installed!
My system is a Debian Etch box with 2.6.18-4-686 kernel.

When I run the setup again I get this different error:

This looks like a hardware problem. Please check your server with e.g. memcheck.

Yes it was the hardware, it seems to be a problem with my sata controller.
