I am not sure why, but mysql server shuts down a lot. When I restart mysqld, all the sites run fine for a while, then the server (mysqld) shuts down again. Is there a setting that needs adjusting? I do have several large databases. Here is a portion of the mysql log: /usr/libexec/mysqld: Forcing close of thread 2844 user: 'c1bipress' 110912 8:20:44 [Warning] /usr/libexec/mysqld: Forcing close of thread 2843 user: 'c1bipress' 110912 8:20:44 [Warning] /usr/libexec/mysqld: Forcing close of thread 2842 user: 'c1bipress' 110912 8:20:44 [Warning] /usr/libexec/mysqld: Forcing close of thread 2840 user: 'c1bipress' 110912 8:20:44 [Warning] /usr/libexec/mysqld: Forcing close of thread 2836 user: 'c1bipress' 110912 8:20:44 [Warning] /usr/libexec/mysqld: Forcing close of thread 2793 user: 'c1carolina' 110912 8:21:39 InnoDB: Starting shutdown... 110912 8:21:41 InnoDB: Shutdown completed; log sequence number 0 14365591 110912 8:21:41 [Note] /usr/libexec/mysqld: Shutdown complete 110912 08:21:41 mysqld_safe mysqld from pid file /var/run/mysqld/mysqld.pid ended 110912 08:21:42 mysqld_safe Starting mysqld daemon with databases from /var/lib/mysql 110912 8:21:42 InnoDB: Initializing buffer pool, size = 8.0M 110912 8:21:42 InnoDB: Completed initialization of buffer pool 110912 8:21:43 InnoDB: Started; log sequence number 0 14365591 110912 8:21:43 [Note] Event Scheduler: Loaded 0 events 110912 8:21:43 [Note] /usr/libexec/mysqld: ready for connections. Hi Falko, I resolved this. Yes, that was my initial concern, but the server is Raid 5 about 1.5 TB with 32 Gb Ram. I checked the CPU, Memory, etc. The server wasn't breaking a sweat. It was the /etc/my.cnf file. I added this line under [mysqld]: max_connections=100 Resolved. Thank you
