    Hello All,

Followed the perfect server ubuntu installation a while back. i thought i'd run mysqltuner.pl on it and somewhat found this..

    -------- Security Recommendations -------------------------------------------
[!!] User '@localhost' has no password set.
[!!] User '@xxxxx.com' has no password set.

Has anyone come across this and if i do set passwords, will it break ispconfig3?

    Many thanks,
    Ezat

These records are not from ispconfig. If you set them, it might affect other software.

I have found exactly the same problem:

How would i go about removing the cause of those warnings?

I'm guessing debian here..judging by your results.

If you look at those 2 users with phpmyadmin (users table in the mysql database), you will see that they have absolutely no privileges at all - so they can't do much.

I believe thay are designed for base mysql setup and often also install a "test" database - designed for people to mess with so you get used to mysql.

Just delete the test db's if you see them, the users really aren't a problem as they can't do anything except read - and no normal db's allow them as access.
