We are having DNS server pri. and sec. with ISPconfi3. Now we have seen that some auto backup of named directory has been taken in below mentioned directory with extension .run( named.run,named.run-20181111) /var/named/data Kindly let us know whether this is really backup of named.conf and all zone files. if yes then how to restore this backup?
Named saves debug information to /var/named/named.run file. So it is not a backup at all, but something name service uses when it is active. I found this out using Internet Search Engines looking for named.run.
