hi, i had to reinstall my server (due to ispconfig no longer compiling ... seems it really was an error somewhere else, the reinstall helped) now i put everything back on, everything seems to work except ftp. can you give me some details about how vsftpd is supposed to be configured and doing auth ? if i start the service manually (via inet.d script) auth fails ... there is probably a conig file i didn't put back in place or so thanks in advance
You must vsftpd to authenticate against pam or shadow. But I recommend to use proftpd instaed of vsftpd.
