Hello friends, Why is this so important? Anybody who will try and help me solve a problem? I'll be very thankfull if someone would. I've got a netbook, which I bought to use on University for the next 3 years. I really wan't to be able to keep OS Linux on the computer! But, the only driver/solution to my problem is to install windows. The problem is, that I like Linux very much and the computer has got only 2Gb memory (installed maximum possible) So far I managed to get everything else to work. But this I can't solve on my own. I tried for more than 2 month now. I'll show some of the latest forum request further down. The problem! I need some help how-to setup/find drivers for "Qualcomm Gobi1000 HP un2400-module" for mobile broadband/Internal SIM card on Ubuntu 12.04.4*/Compaq Mini 110 - 110c-1010SO Facts! *OS: Ubuntu 12.04.4 (or higher if this solves the problem) SIM-card tested in a usb modem, and it works. I really need some help now. Only short time to uni/school begins.
Hi I have tried it before in my previous organization, but unfortunately I found that it was not compatible in my area code. It was working fine with my previous Sweden office. Please look the link & check if it could help you.
Hi Srijan, Thanks for your reply... I'll look at it, right now! Really hope to get it to work. I just don't understand, why a thing like Mobile Broadband / wireless internet is not a priority at Ubuntu!?!? Simply doesn't understand it. Isn't it one of the most important services of today?? And the module is not a unknown peace of hardware!! Well, lets hope it can be solved. If it can, some way, somehow, I'll make a great ToDo for all others to use.
Hello again, Sorry, but this didn't solve the issue. The problem, right now, is that the card isn't detected by the system. I don't know if it is because of a missing driver (only windows drivers has been made), if it's because of the BIOS or if it's because of Ubuntu in general. The module isn't detected when booting Ubuntu Linux 12.04.4. And, it's not an Ericsson module, It's a Qualcomm Gobi1000 HP un2400-module mobile broadband But, I'm testing this from that site: "Using Wine to execute the Qualcomm Gobi 2000 Wireless WAN Driver installer that simply unpacks the real installer named GobiInstaller.msi. Then just extract[1] the firmware images from the MSI file by $ wine msiexec /a ~/.wine/drive_c/DRIVERS/WWANQL/Driver/GobiInstaller.msi /qb TARGETDIR=C:\\DRIVERS\\GOBI." https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+bug/554099 "...requires several changes to work. First, the kernel module needs to be updated, which requires larger modifications. Second, a new firm-ware loader is required together with a matching udev rule.."
