I'm new to ISPconfig and a new subscriber.
Using the following congig guide on a fresh Ubuntu 14.04 VPS:
    https://www.howtoforge.com/tutorial/perfect-server-ubuntu-with-nginx-and-ispconfig-3/3/
No errors with the install (that I could see). I get the NGINX page when I go to the domain.
But, when I go to http://hostname.com/8080/
    or https://hostname.com/8080/ I get "ERR_CONNECTION_REFUSED"
I've been around Windows Servers since Windows NT and 2000, but am still learning Linux.
I would appreciate some tips, advice and/or things to check. Thank you.
    Peter

You are using :8080 and not /8080 like you show in your post?

Thanks to till and webguyz for responses.
I was using :8080 on a new VPS with Ubuntu 14.04 ISPconfig version 3.05.4p9
I rebooted the VPS server, ran the Test Script suggested by till.
Then tested again in IE. Success! Tested in Chrome. Success!
I suspect the reboot solved the issue. Thanks.
I'm looking forward to version 3.1 getting out of beta as i want to install HHVM.
