I have just installed ISPConfig on Unbuntu 6.06 LTS and followed a6.10 version with no errors - when running the setup i enter my static external ip, and supply my host and domain name!! How ever when i connect via a browser i am shown the directory structure and not the standard web page have i done something wrong
query after fix ok i have manged to fix this problem - however why do i get this - i am planning to buy a server for a datacenter - how can i get round the need for my internal IP address problem or will this correct this itself due to the location of the machine
If your server is behind a router, you must use the internal IP for the websites. If your server is directly connected to the internet, e.g. in a datacenter, you must use your official (external) IP address. The problem you had above was because you used the wrong IP address for the websites.
