Hi one of my friends who is eager to get his pages working on my new server calls me and says at least one page doesnt work because mod_rewrite is not active. I installed along the tutorial http://www.howtoforge.com/the-perfe...bind-mysql-php-postfix-dovecot-and-ispconfig3 and didnt see anything related to install mod_rewrite so i think its included int he package?
Nginx rewriting is completely different from apache and nginx does not support .htaccess files to load rules on the fly, so you have to add the nginx rewrite rules in the nginx directives field of the website in ispconfig. The nginx rewrite system is part of the core,so you dont have to install a separate module for it like you have to do it with apache. Nginx is a very special webserver, you might have better installed apache if you are nit familar with nginx.
thanks. i'm willing to learn, and that server and the pages located there are not that important at all so some delay in starting them is ok...
