Hi, I configured a brand new server with your howto https://www.howtoforge.com/tutorial...l-pureftpd-bind-postfix-doveot-and-ispconfig/ After all, there is no debian-sys-maint user in mariaDB and in no entry for debian-sys-maint in /etc/mysql/debian.cnf. User-line in debian.cnf is "user = root". Same is on your image "Ubuntu_16_04_perfect_server_apache.ova". Is that right? Is the user debian-sys-maint not needed? I stumbled upon it, because I got some error messages from logrotate: Code: /etc/cron.daily/logrotate: mysqladmin: connect to server at 'localhost' failed error: 'Access denied for user 'root'@'localhost' (using password: NO)' error: error running shared postrotate script for '/var/log/mysql/mysql.log /var/log/mysql/mysql-slow.log /var/log/mysql/ma riadb-slow.log /var/log/mysql/error.log ' run-parts: /etc/cron.daily/logrotate exited with return code 1 TIA Martin
Yes, ubuntu removed the sys maint user. That's not related to ispconfig or the perfect server tutorial.
