Hi All, But currently I have a problem with a system, my file server. I have installed the newest version of the Ubuntu server (8.04 LTS)"Perfect setup howto" on a new system. All went well with the install using the Howto with my mods,no bind, dns. The system was able to access the internet . I then installed ebox and started to configure as per howto. After reboot required by the latest updates, I found that I was unable to access the internet Any suggestions on what to check that ebox might have changed.
Can you post the outputs of Code: route -nee and Code: ifconfig ? What's your gateway IP? What's in /etc/resolv.conf?
No internet access after ebox install and reboot 2nd reply Hi Falko, Believe it or not, I thought that I had replied to to your original email, but not from normal PC but I see no record on the site. My reply just stated briefly, that I had solved the problem by setting up a static address as noted in your Howto. I thought that I had effectively set-up a static address by using my router to always supply the same address dependant on the MAC address. Unfortunately that did not work. I needed to set-up a real static address. Unfortunately recently we have had a series of power cuts and now the problem is back even with a static address. I will be supplying the information that you requested before once I have been able to transfer the outputs from server PC. Thanks again and my apologies that you did not see my previous reply and hope that you do not mind answering questions again. I have other questions about ebox and I will reserve them for another time. Best Wishes for a happy, healthy and prosperous New Year. Jim R.
