Starting about a month ago, we can't received emails from Bell ie sympatico or bellaliant.com. My one customer is receiving the following message. Failed / Échec; 5.4.0 (other or undefined network or routing status / état du réseau ou d'acheminement différent ou non défini) I can't seem to find much direction on this, I believe it's DNS related just not sure what to look for. I've also checked that we are not blacklisted and we are not. Thanks for any help.
Is this customer error message from the sender? Why does the message have both english and french? The sender should receive informative error message when the message can not be delivered. If the e-mail does arrive at your e-mail server, the mail log has lines that should reveal what happens to that e-mail. If only that one sender can not send to your e-mail system, I would say it is not likely that the problem is in DNS or maybe at your system at all. If the sending system checked their setting that might help. Anyway, there are website tools to check e-mail setups. Use Internet Search Engines with something like Code: e-mail server tester
This is what the customer receives from their mail provider, I see nothing in my logs. I am in Canada so everything is normally in french and English. I've tested mail with online tools and have not had any issues reported back by those services.
If nothing shows in your logs, the remote server isn't trying to deliver it - have the sender ask their mail provider why their messages aren't delivered.
I managed to contact a bell representative and found out our MX record was not working correctly. Consider this resolved
