What do you guys think of porting ISPconfig 3 also to OpenBSD? Or is there any special thing what makes Linux best for WebHosting?
    Do you think that's possible?

I would think it would be possible. Probably have to play with the dist.txt file, but I'd be surprised if you didn't get it working...

ISPConfig 3 has no dist.txt file like ISPConfig 2, instead it has a class written in PHP that contains linux distribution specific setup procedures and a php config file. The installer supports curently just Debian 4 and might work with Ubuntu as well (untested).

But I guess that ISPConfig 3 itself will work already under OpenBSD and FreeBSD if it is installed manually without the installer as long as postfix and courier with mysql support are installed.

    Hi,

    sounds great ;-)
just another small question... when do you think comes ISPconfig 3.x out? Just an inexact guess ... next week or maybe in two years ... ?

There's no release date yet. Maybe in half a year. :)
