hello! I have a problem after this tutorial: http://www.howtoforge.com/openldap-samba-domain-controller-ubuntu7.10-p2 the only difference is that I tried to install everything on ubuntu server 8.0.4 (the LTS one) I have assigned a domain name within samba like that: dc=my-domain,dc=com and when I try to connect a win XP computer to the domain it only finds: MY.DOMAIN.COM domain.... how so? why the hyphen is replaced by the dot?? I can join the computer into the domain using the root user, but my users imported from the unix users by migrationtools do not authenticate..... could possibly be because of the above problem?? i am a newbie and I am lost... any help would be greatly appreciated!!
