Panel on 8080 and SSL, but other sites dont work

Hello,

I followed the guide to setup SSL on the panel site https://sub.domain.com:8080

But if a customers goes to http://www.customer.com:8080 it ends in an error and redirects to the above secure site.
I just want customers to manage the site on their 'own' URL

What did i do wrong?

had to use https on the customer site
