Hi, I am trying to ssh into a linux server that I have accessed many times before. After I put the address into putty and hit enter, the terminal window opens but the password prompt does not open. I have tried entering my password and hitting enter but noting happens. A few seconds later an error window opens and says that the connection has timed out. What is happening and how do I fix it? Thanks
When you install os you was asked to create root password and new user , so try to connect putty by that user and after do a command su root
I am not an administrator on the server, but I asked the administrator about the problem. The problem was that the server had been shut down over the weekend. Thanks though
