    Hi,

(I first mistakenly posted this question as a comment to the HOWTO - sorry for that...)

Using pdfedit on Hardy, I followed the instructions in this tutorial, but when I left-click on the text in the main window (just after copying the modified text), I get a message: "Document is read-only", and the text doesn't change. In the file's properties panel (using Nautilus), it seems I have permission to both read and write.

    Thanks,

    raziv

you can lock a pdf to be write only... or to make it not-printable... you'll have to circumvent that lock probably.

Does anyone have any idea how I remove a lock like that?

there were tools for windows... used one once because my buddy's gf couldn't print out the powerpoint presentation that was given her by her prof... but never had a need in linux so far.
