Hi, we need to install a Debian 10 server with Mysql 8 daemon (instead the MariaDb). It's there a way to do it with ispconfig? Because as far as i can see only MariaDb it's officially supported (as officially I mean included on the Perfect Server installation). Thank you. Kind Regards
It is possible to use MySQL 8 instead of MariaDB, but we recommend using MariaDB. Any particular reason to use MySQL 8?
It's just a customer request. No idea why they want mysql 8 instead mariadb. Btw, what is the correct procedure to migrate from maria to mysql 8?
I have not done it myself, but you can leave out the mariaDB steps and just follow the MySQL 8 install steps following their instructions. But, I would advice you to use MariaDB. MySQL 8 is compatible, but we don't test it and issues with it don't have a high priority, so it is better not to use it on production systems.
