Im at the part where I need to telnet into local host port 25, to make sure its working, but it hangs there. It says its connected, then says the esc key is some kind of characters, then nothing happens. I can type, but nothing happens. Any help is much appreciated, thank you
It is most likely not hanging, it is waiting for your input. You have to enter enter: ehlo localhost and then hit return at this point on the telnet prompt.
I've typed in ehlo localhost, but nothing happens. The command goes in, but I get no output. I type quit, exit, ctrl+c, nothing happens. I have to close the window to get out of it.
Well, I'm not sure what exacly I did, but its working. Only thing I can think of is I edited my smtpd.conf file and removed the extra lines. I was able to login, ehlo localhost and quit. Thanks
